Sailing yacht or expedition cruise?
Choose the rhythm of travel that suits you. A voyage on our yacht means shared spaces, ocean passages and direct contact with a crew of three.
| What matters to you | On the DrakePass yacht | When comparing a cruise |
|---|---|---|
| Group size | Up to 9 guests and 3 crew | Ask about the ship’s guest capacity and the size of each landing group. |
| Accommodation | A berth in a shared cabin, a heated interior and shared living spaces | Check cabin type, private bathroom arrangements and what the fare covers. |
| Time at sea | The Drake Passage is sailed in both directions | Some products sail both ways; others combine a flight with a sea voyage. Verify the actual route. |
| Participation | Watches, night duties, cooking and cleaning are voluntary; safety instructions apply to everyone | Ask about activities, participation rules, equipment and additional charges. |
| Daily plans | The captain adapts passages and landings to weather, ice and access | Compare how the operator handles missed landings and weather changes. |
Is this the right expedition for you?
Consider how you feel about sharing a cabin and living space, several days on an ocean passage and a route that can change. You can travel solo, as a couple or with friends; discuss cabin allocation and your needs with our team before booking.
