Teaching sailing
Pavel has worked as an instructor at a yacht academy in Turkey and Cyprus. His experience combines leading voyages with teaching the practical skills of sailing.
Antarctic expedition experience
Pavel has crossed the Drake Passage many times during his work in Antarctica.
Pavel has the final say on passages, anchorages and landings. Weather, sea state, ice and access permissions shape the plan. He can wait for a weather window, change course or postpone an activity when conditions require it.
Our approach to safetyFrom ocean crossings to Arctic waters
Pavel has completed a circumnavigation under sail. His ocean experience includes two Pacific crossings, two Indian Ocean crossings and three Atlantic crossings.
He also has extensive sailing experience in the Arctic seas of Russia and around Greenland. His travels have taken him to Norway, Chukotka and Kamchatka.
Learning and life on board
The crew explains safety equipment and routines before departure. You can learn sailing with the crew when conditions allow; watches, night duties, cooking and cleaning are voluntary. Everyone follows the safety briefing and the captain’s instructions.
